What our clients say:
I engaged Rachel to work with my management team as part of a development programme for them. I chose Rachel as she is outside of the NHS and could, therefore, offer a safe and neutral perspective to the coaching sessions. I worked with Rachel to develop an outline brief for what I wanted for my management team from the Coaching sessions and for the sessions to be completely confidential between each participant and Rachel with no feedback to me about what was discussed in session. Even though the sessions for my managers were voluntary each manager took up the opportunity to engage with Rachel and the anecdotal feedback that I have received has all been positive even from those managers that I thought would be
sceptical! One memorable comment that I received was that ‘coaching should be a part of every member of staffs development’ – this speaks volumes about Rachel and her approach. Each of my managers has grown as a result of Rachel and her Coaching.

Rachel works on a weekly basis with children, parents/carers and staff at our primary school. Through her, individuals are supported to work through trauma, find solutions to particular challenges and build a sustainably healthier relationship with their learning. Crucially, we are able to meet emerging needs swiftly, supporting families to cope in the most difficult of circumstances. In times of increasing pressure upon any remaining community resources, Rachel has proved a vital part of our team in keeping children, families and staff safe and mentally healthy.

Child A has come out of her shell, starting from nursery and reception she was painfully shy, and even currently in year 3, she still struggled to put her hand up to answer a question or even to go to the toilet. Petrified of getting into trouble, and even if she hurt herself or someone was being particularly unkind to her, she would not say a word.
Since her sessions with you, this has completely changed. Although she is a child full of life and laughter at home and amongst people she knows and is comfortable with, in the classroom dynamic or with other adults, this is not so. Child A is now eager to answer questions, isn’t afraid of approaching an adult to let them know something is wrong and has even been showing a ‘cheeky’ and funny side to her in the classroom, we hear from her teachers. Her progress this year, in school has been remarkable. Thank you so much.
Child B started her sessions with you as a very troubled 8 year old. Very unsure of herself, often trying to please people to try to be popular, which always ended in a lot of upset and unhappiness. Child B is now much ‘happier in her own skin’, and although we are still working on her self-belief and self-confidence, she has emotionally matured after the exercises that you have set her. Now almost 11 years old, she has developed relationships much better with both girls and boys. This was something she really struggled with in year 4. The sessions we had with you were also very enlightening and helped tremendously. Your support has been truly marvellous, thanks so much.

Having had lots of counselling after some very painful experiences in my personal and work life I was ready to move on from the past to the future. I knew of Rachel's work from previous meetings and professional links. At first we met quite regularly and she introduced the Life maps which I felt were very helpful in moving on from being stuck ans seeing where I wanted to get to. Also they give a bigger perspective on one's life as a whole. Yes there were tears and frustrations expressed but I could feel myself emerging from a very negative place. Now 3 years later we see each other vey occasionally and speak on the phone when I ask for support. Again this pulls me out of the negative space into the higher self and inspires me to make the most of life. I feel there is never a quick fix and you have to practice living in this way. Sometimes I forget and need to be pulled back from drifting into negativity. I feel very fortunate to have Rachel's skills and inspiration in my life. I have done things I would never have done without her.

Rachel was referred to me by a friend who suggested that life coaching
might be of help. When I first contacted her I was working as a shift
engineer in a factory and feeling trapped and unhappy in the role. I
was looking for a change of direction and to gain more flexibility and
balance in my life.
We initially set up a coaching session every 2 weeks. At my first
session Rachel and I discussed what I felt was wrong with my
current situation and what steps could be taken to bring about
positive changes. Within a short space of time and after only a few
coaching sessions I was more able to define my goals and realise
hidden possibilities and opportunities.
Life coaching has helped me to see where I was, where I would like to
be and what can be done to achieve this.
I have now started my own business and am thoroughly enjoying the
challenge and flexibility self employment allows me.
I found Rachel to be very positive, friendly, approachable and
professional and would recommend Carnelian coaching to anyone looking
to change and improve their life.

My son was 10 when I moved him from the primary school where he had started his education to a new school. He found this change extremely hard and cried nearly all day every day for 6 weeks. I felt very helpless and was doubting whether I had made the right decision. He was getting increasingly anxious and distressed. I have suffered from mental health issues all of my adult life and feel that if I had been given the opportunity to address them when they developed in childhood, I would not have spent much of my recent years dealing with them. I underwent some coaching from Rachel Perris when I was off work with stress and depression and she helped me to gain perspective and get back on my feet. I felt that my son was behaving in ways that I had done in the past and thought that if he could get help to cope while he was young then he would be able to cope better with his anxiety as he grows up. This is why I was delighted that Rachel said she was happy to work with him, she was really my last resort in trying to get him through the transition between schools.
My son had met Rachel in passing before, as he was in the same class as her daughter Ella, so she was not a stranger when she first came into the house to meet him. When she arrived, my son was curled up in a ball on the sofa in tears. Rachel reassured me and I went to a different room while she talked with him. The difference over the course of an hour was amazing and by the time Rachel left, my happy boy had reappeared. She gave him some tools to use to address his concerns and helped him to identify the positives in his life and his situation. They met on 2 further occasions and each time, my son, grew in confidence. We gradually had less tears and he began to settle into school, by the end of the first term I had my happy cheeky boy back.
I am so grateful to Rachel for helping my son through this challenging period and although some people might think that 10 is a little young to undergo coaching, it made a massive difference to our lives. He still remembers and uses some of the tools that she gave him and I am hoping that he will continue to use them as school pressures increase.
I would highly recommend Rachel and her skills to anyone of any age who is struggling with a challenge that they cannot find their way through.
